World-renowned ethical hacker and
Intranet security expert, iCMG Inc., USA, Tom Cervenka
addressed the media on Internet Hacking and its relevance
in the global scenario here at iCMG on Tuesday.
Cervenka, who is also known as "Blue
Adept" or "White hat", has to his credit an achievement
of disclosing security loopholes of a number of websites
including Hotmail, Yahoo, eBay, Excite and Eudora.
Hacking has been an increasing menace
in the present scenario where global markets converge
on the Internet. Business companies worldwide are realizing
the importance of eSecurity and taking necessary steps
to implement it.
"It is extremely imperative that
Indian corporates also recognize the importance of securing
their portals or websites and take the necessary steps
to protect their portals" he said.

security on the Internet he added.

we have to secure the transactions which range from
data to monetary exchange. Hacking has been an ever

eSecurity is a must and plays a pivotal
role in the very existence of the internet. In the absence
of eSecurity, the portals or websites can be hacked
and misused, he said.
Jha said there are three types of
hacking - White hat Hacking, Black hat Hacking and Grey
hat Hacking. White hat hacking is a positive type of
hacking where the hacker discloses fully the nature
of the results of a software testing. In Black hat hacking,
the hacker starts an unauthorized testing of software.
