Bangalore,
India - May 09, 2002- We are happy to announce the
release of K2 Component Server v1.2 with general availability
of interworking capability between EJB components and CCM
components.
This evaluation version
supports EJB views for CORBA Components (CCM). This view allows
a Java client to access a CORBA component (CCM) as an EJB.
The Java client can either be an EJB or any other piece of
Java code.
How does EJB-CCM interworking
work?
Step
I :
Mapping of the Component IDL definition of a CORBA component
(CCM)into an EJB definition.
Step
II:
Translation, at run-time, of EJB requests performed by a Java
client into CORBA component requests.
The release includes IDL2EJB
compiler that generates Java Interfaces and RMI-IIOP stubs
out of CORBA Component definition.
Key
benefits of EJB-CCM inter-working
The inter-working capability allows the creation of distributed
enterprise applications, which mix
- EJB components(Java) running
in J2EE Application Servers and
- CCM components(C++) running in K2 Component Server
