AJOU University (South Korea) to develop application framework to generate composite components with K2

Bangalore, India - April 5 2003 - iCMG today announced partnership with AJOU University (South Korea) to develop a tool to support recursive composition of CCM components with K2 Component Server. This tool will be helpful in developing various kinds of components supporting multi-tier component architecture, recursive component composition and various kinds of component composition patterns.

Under this program, iCMG will provide educational licenses of K2 Component Server as well as technical support to the institution in developing this framework.

"In this project, we develop a application framework that support a recursive composition of CCM components. For this, we design a composition specification, combine components based on this specification, and develop a re-configurable component by checking a composability and compatibility. We also develop an application framework that supports component-based software development process by providing a GUI-based tools that automatically generate a composite component or application" - commented Prof. Lee Jung-Tae, Doctor's Course, AJOU University.

"We hope this relationship with AJOU University will enable them to develop innovative tools and frame work based on CORBA Component Model with K2 Component Server". said, Poornima, Director-iCMG. "This tool will provide real benefits to the component developers"-she added.

K2 Component Server is a server-side infrastructure to develop, deploy and manage CORBA Components. It is based on OMG's CORBA Component model (CCM) that includes a Component Model, Container Model, Packaging and Deployment. K2 Component Server also supports interworking with EJB. It comes with a set of infrastructure services including dynamic clustering, fault tolerance, configurable algorithms for load balancing and global Trader Service.
