Component Education Server ™ launched at Colombo- Sri Lanka
Colombo, July 3rd 2001 : iCMG join hands with IDM group of
companies which is dedicated to serve the computer and information
technology industry for launching their Component Education
Server in Colombo.
iCMG has teamed up with IDM as their Research & Scientific
Group (RSG) to offer Middleware & component training in Colombo
through Component Education Server (CES). Component Education
Server (CES v3.0) is a Corporate eLearning tool for enterprises
adopting middleware & component infrastructure for their mainstream
development efforts. It enables distributed framework for
carrying rich and interactive data through DVD, intranet and
Internet media with enhanced quality of service (QoS). CES
has a strong client base including the global software & telecom
giants like Siemens, CTS, Mascot, MindTree etc. Currently,
CES is deployed in more than 50 companies worldwide with a
user base of more than 5,000 licenses.
CES automates the iCMG's "learning through collaboration"
methodology for the middleware technologies. It has a very
high level of content engagement (Video-based teaching and
storytelling) which increases the knowledge retention as high
as 70%.
The freedom and technical capability that this approach unleashes
can have an incredible impact. Whenever your project needs
advanced IT knowledge (e.g. 10pm on a Friday or 7am on a Sunday)
your IT staff can learn from some of the world's top experts.
Their learning experience can be seamlessly interleaved between
productive on-the-job tasks, with learning during lunchtime,
break-time, or after-hours. Eventually, through virtual private
networks (VPN's), your IT staff can acquire new skills overnight
while on-travel at a consulting site (even overseas). The
proposed technical solution can have audio, video, text transcript,
and converted viewgraph content, all synchronized. Mentoring
can also be provided for semi-real-time Q&A Email support
(by iCMG professionals) including other kinds of content,
e.g. quizzes, tests, assignments, examples, and software (for
laboratory exercises).
According to Dr. Thomas Mowbray - Numero Uno of Software Architecture,
"With e-commerce projected to grow rapidly, companies worldwide
are poised to jump head-on into the distributed computing
model. The demand for professional skills in middleware will
boom in the coming months. We have taken the initiative for
providing high-end education services in emerging technologies
by offering well-defined courseware and global expertise in
CORBA, EJB and XML technology ".
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sunil Dutt Jha said that "We
have structured the courseware keeping the market in mind.
Our strategy is to fill in the gap that exists in the current
programs offered by the other institutes. We will bring in
global experts and people who are involved in the evolution
of technologies".
