 Samir Asaf has over 20 years of experience in management, holding
directorship positions for more than 10 years. He was a speaker at the Global Leaders’ Summit (New York) in 2004, UN Global Compact Leaders Summit
(Geneva) in 2006, and the Asia-Pacific CEO conference (Singapore) in 2009. Samir is currently CEO of Pinnacle LLP, a consulting and training firm in
Bangladesh, and Global Partner at the Haines Centre for Strategic Management (USA).
Samir was Senior Consultant at the International Finance Corporation / World Bank (USA). Prior to that he held the Group CEO position at
Rahimafrooz Group (Bangladesh) – a multi-division business conglomerate. Prior to that, he was Finance Director at AT&T Corp. (USA), and Senior
Manager, Strategy & Planning at IPDC (Bangladesh) – a development bank.
Samir is a Certified Facilitator for Scandinavian Leadership in LOTS. He is a Member of the Board of Directors, IACMB, USA; Certified Basel II
Auditor from Basel II Institute (Switzerland); Internationally Certified in Banking Risk and Regulation (ICBRR), Global Association of Risk
Professionals, (USA); Certified Basel II: Pillar 1, 2, 3, and Stress Testing Expert from Basel II Association (USA); Certified Treasury Professional
(CTP) from Association of Financial Professionals (USA); Certified Cost Management expert from Business Cost Management (Ireland); Certified Six Sigma
Master Black Belt (USA); Certified Trainer of FranklinCovey (USA) in Leadership and Managerial Effectiveness, and a Certified Master in Business
Process Management (BPM) from BP Group; and Certified in Strategic Management from the Haines Centre for Strategic Planning (USA).
He has authored a book titled: “Executive Corporate Finance: the business of enhancing shareholder value” (Financial Times Prentice Hall, London,
2004). He holds a Doctorate in Business Management from SMC University (Switzerland); Masters degree in Advanced Economics and Econometrics from
London School of Economics (UK); MBA in Finance from CSM-IGS (Canada); Postgraduate Diploma in Management, Oxford University (UK); Postgraduate
Diploma in Mathematical Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London; and Bachelors degree in Management from Boston College (USA).
He was a Research Fellow in Corporate Strategy at the Harvard Business School (USA), and completed his Advanced Management Programme and Postgraduate
Diploma in Management from Oxford University (UK) in 1998.
